Tayo continues to do well. He is still into his sport and represents his secondary school in cricket and rugby. Although we haven't seen him since, we have spoken on the phone.
July 2009
Tayo is 14. His phone calls have gradually tailed off as he has become more involved in his new life. I expected this; it is normal and a good sign he is settling well. The last phone call was in April 2009 when he said he would visit us if he came to England (which he hopes to do when he leaves school). In July I received a Facebook friend's request from him and his family, so we are all officially friends! I was able to view lots of lovely photographs of the great life he is leading in Africa with his family.
January 2010
We haven't heard from Tayo since the Facebook request. It wouldn't be considered appropriate for me to phone him now as this could unsettle him. I can view his photos on Facebook which is lovely. He looks a smashing young man who clearly has a great circle of friends and fine family.
